Echopace Privacy Policy
arearun LLC ("we") has established the following privacy policy for Echopace, a running log app for iPhone (the "App").
1. Data the App handles
The App handles workouts read from the Health app (such as distance, time, route, and heart rate), location data for runs you record with your iPhone, information you enter such as meal notes and monthly goals, and videos you export. All of it is stored only on your device. We cannot obtain, collect, or view any of it.
2. Health (HealthKit)
With your permission, the App reads running workouts, routes, and heart rate from the Health app, and saves runs you record with your iPhone to the Health app. Health data is never sent off your device, never used for advertising or marketing, and never provided to third parties. You can change permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings (Health › Data Access & Devices).
3. Location
Location is used only from when you start recording until you stop (including while your screen is locked), to measure your route and distance. Location data is never sent off your device.
4. On-device AI
Run summaries and meal-note parsing use Apple's on-device language model (Foundation Models). All processing happens on your device; no text or numbers are sent to any external AI service. Numbers are calculated by the App, not by the AI.
5. Network use
We do not run any server for the App. The App's network use is limited to Apple's maps (map and satellite imagery, including the map in videos) and the App Store (purchases). To display maps, information about the area shown may be sent to Apple and is handled under Apple's privacy policy. The App does not sync through iCloud.
6. Analytics and advertising SDKs
We do not include any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The statistics we see are limited to the standard aggregate metrics in App Store Connect and anonymous crash and performance information that Apple delivers if you have chosen to share it. We do not track you.
7. Sharing
When you share a video or other content, it is sent by your action to the destination you choose in the share sheet. How the destination handles it is governed by that service's policies.
8. Purchases
The in-app purchase for video export is processed through Apple's StoreKit. Payment details such as card numbers do not pass through us and are managed by Apple. The number of free exports you have used is stored in your device's keychain and is not sent off your device.
9. Deleting data
You can delete runs in the App (the original data in the Health app remains). Deleting the App removes its data from your device, except for the record of free exports, which stays in the keychain. Health data can be managed and deleted in the Health app. If you back up your iPhone, the App's data is included in that backup.
10. Changes
We may revise this policy as needed. If there are significant changes, we will announce them on this page.
