Meishido Privacy Policy
arearun LLC ("we", "us") sets out this privacy policy for Meishido (名刺道), our business-card management app.
1. Data the app handles
Meishido processes business-card images captured from the camera or photos, the name, company, title and contact details recognized from them, and any notes or tags you add. All of this is stored only on the devices you use (iPhone, Mac) and in your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit private database. We cannot access, collect, or view this information.
2. Scope of network communication
The app communicates only with Apple's iCloud (to sync your data between your own devices) and the App Store (for purchases, via StoreKit). It never communicates with any server operated by us, and we have no plans to add one.
3. Access to your Contacts
The app writes to your device's Contacts app only when you turn on "Sync to Contacts" and only for cards you choose. This setting is off by default, and nothing written to Contacts is ever sent off your device.
4. Integration with Claude (Pro feature)
Features such as "Send to Claude" pass data directly to the Claude app you have installed and subscribe to yourself, via the share sheet or a local MCP connection on Mac. This never passes through a server of ours. Claude's handling of your data is governed by Anthropic, PBC.'s own privacy policy.
5. Analytics and advertising SDKs
We do not include any usage-analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or crash-reporting SDK. The only statistics we receive are the standard aggregate metrics provided by App Store Connect and Apple's MetricKit (anonymous, aggregated device performance and stability data), both mediated entirely by Apple.
6. Disclosure to third parties
As described above, we do not collect your card data or contacts, so we have nothing to disclose to third parties.
7. Handling of purchase information
The Pro in-app purchase is processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit. Payment details such as card numbers are managed by Apple and never pass through us.
8. Requests for access, correction, or deletion
Because your data lives only on your device and in your iCloud account, you can delete or export it at any time directly on your device (Delete All in Settings, or export as CSV, vCard, or JSON). For any other questions, please contact us at the address below.
9. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as needed. If we make a material change, we will announce it on this page.
